The Samidori variety was cultivated in the tea fields of Takayuki Matsuda, a tea farmer in Wazuka whose family has carried on the tradition for generations.
A native variety of Uji, Kyoto, it is a staple of Uji matcha products, and we have lavishly used 100% of this rare tea leaf, ideally suited for matcha production.
It is a first-rate tea with an impressive vivid green color and outstanding flavor, a clean finish, and an easy-to-drink character.
Enjoy the true appeal and value inherent in the tea variety itself—something that can only be experienced with a single-variety, single-origin tea.
※This matcha can also be used for koicha (thick tea). In the formal tea gathering known as chaji, the main focus is koicha, and the gathering is held for the sake of this single serving.
